Ester-C® - Feed Ingredient
Ester-C® is a patented form of vitamin C consisting primarily of calcium ascorbate, along with small amounts of vitamin C metabolites such as dehydroascorbate and calcium threonate. It is formulated to be non-acidic and gentler on the stomach compared to standard ascorbic acid.
In equine nutrition, Ester-C® is used as a stable, buffered source of vitamin C. While most horses synthesize adequate vitamin C in their liver, supplementation may be considered for older horses, those under stress, or with compromised immune function.
