Forsythia - Feed Ingredient
Forsythia refers to the flowering shrubs of the Forsythia genus, most commonly Forsythia suspensa, which is used in traditional Chinese medicine. The dried fruit (forsythiae fructus) is the part typically harvested and processed for botanical use.
It contains lignans, flavonoids, and phenylethanoid glycosides, which are studied in other species for their potential antimicrobial, antioxidant, and anti-inflammatory properties. However, there is no equine-specific research evaluating the safety or functional benefits of forsythia.
The following equine feeds, supplements and products contain Forsythia as an ingredient.
