Gracilistylus (Acanthopanax Bark) - Feed Ingredient
Gracilistylus, commonly referring to the bark of Acanthopanax gracilistylus, is a botanical ingredient traditionally used in herbal medicine. It is native to parts of East Asia and is closely related to Siberian ginseng (Eleutherococcus senticosus).
In equine supplements, Acanthopanax bark may be included for its content of bioactive compounds such as eleutherosides, lignans, and flavonoids. These compounds are associated with adaptogenic properties and have been studied for their effects on stress response and immune modulation in other species.
There is limited research on the use of Acanthopanax bark specifically in horses, and its efficacy and safety in equine nutrition are not well established.
The following equine feeds, supplements and products contain Gracilistylus (Acanthopanax Bark) as an ingredient.
