Inonotus obliquus, commonly known as Chaga mushroom, is a parasitic fungus that grows primarily on birch trees in cold climates. The sclerotium (woody growth) is harvested and processed into powder, extracts, or teas.
Chaga contains various bioactive compounds, including polysaccharides, betulinic acid, melanin, and antioxidants, which have been studied in other species for immune-modulating and anti-inflammatory properties.
