Linoleic Acid (Omega-6 Fatty Acid) - Feed Ingredient

Linoleic Acid (Omega-6 Fatty Acid) is an essential polyunsaturated fatty acid found in many plant oils, such as safflower, sunflower, or corn oil. Horses are unable to synthesize this fatty acid, so it must be obtained through their diet. Its chemical structure, featuring two double bonds, plays a role in maintaining cell membrane integrity and normal lipid metabolism.

Linoleic acid is involved in normal inflammatory responses in horses, supporting the healing and repair of tissues after exercise or injury. Equine diets are carefully balanced to include appropriate ratios of omega-6 and omega-3 fatty acids.

The following equine feeds, supplements and products contain Linoleic Acid (Omega-6 Fatty Acid) as an ingredient.
