Live Yeast Culture - Feed Ingredient
Live yeast culture typically refers to the inclusion of viable strains of Saccharomyces cerevisiae in animal feed formulations. These yeast cultures are produced via controlled fermentation and are often dried in a manner that preserves the viability of the yeast cells.
In equine feed, live yeast culture is used to support gut microbial populations and enhance hindgut fermentation. Its inclusion may improve fiber digestion and nutrient utilization by promoting a stable environment for cellulolytic bacteria in the large intestine.
