Lonicera japonica - Feed Ingredient

Lonicera japonica, commonly known as Japanese honeysuckle, is a flowering vine native to East Asia. The dried flower buds or aerial parts of the plant are used in traditional herbal medicine, especially in Chinese formulations, where it is known as “Jin Yin Hua.”

In equine nutrition, Lonicera japonica may appear in herbal supplement blends intended to support immune function or help manage inflammatory responses. The plant contains a range of bioactive compounds, including chlorogenic acid, luteolin, and flavonoids, which have been studied for antimicrobial and antioxidant properties in other species.

The following equine feeds, supplements and products contain Lonicera japonica as an ingredient.
