Low Lactose Whey Protein Concentrate - Feed Ingredient
Low lactose whey protein concentrate is a dairy-derived ingredient obtained during the processing of milk into cheese. It is produced by ultrafiltration of whey to concentrate the protein content while reducing lactose levels. The final product typically contains 30–80% protein, depending on the concentration, and significantly less lactose than standard whey.
In equine nutrition, low lactose whey protein concentrate may be included in specialized feeds or supplements to provide a highly digestible source of high-quality protein. It contains all essential amino acids and is particularly rich in branched-chain amino acids (BCAAs), such as leucine, isoleucine, and valine.
The following equine feeds, supplements and products contain Low Lactose Whey Protein Concentrate as an ingredient.
