Mineral oil is a colorless, odorless oil derived from petroleum that is commonly used in animal feed and veterinary care. It is non-digestible and serves primarily as a lubricant rather than a nutrient source.
In equine nutrition, mineral oil is occasionally used as a digestive aid to help relieve mild cases of constipation or sand accumulation in the gut. It is also used in feed processing to reduce dust and improve pellet quality.
