Natural Color - Feed Ingredient
Natural Color refers to pigments derived from plant, mineral, or animal sources used to impart or enhance color in feed and supplement products. Unlike artificial (synthetic) dyes, natural colors are extracted from naturally occurring materials such as paprika (red/orange), turmeric (yellow), spinach (green), beetroot (red/pink), or annatto (orange-yellow).
In equine feed and supplement formulations, natural colorants are used for product uniformity, visual appeal, or to distinguish between formulations. They do not contribute nutritional value and are included solely for sensory or identification purposes. Natural colors may also help signal freshness or quality to the end user, particularly in consumer-facing products like supplements or treats.
The following equine feeds, supplements and products contain Natural Color as an ingredient.
