Omeprazole - Feed Ingredient

Omeprazole is a synthetic proton pump inhibitor (PPI) used in horses to reduce gastric acid secretion by inhibiting the hydrogen-potassium ATPase enzyme in the stomach lining. It is primarily used to treat and prevent gastric ulcers, especially in performance horses.

Omeprazole is produced via chemical synthesis and is typically formulated as a paste, granule, or enteric-coated tablet to ensure stability in the stomach.

It is not a nutritional ingredient and should only be administered under the direction of a prescribing veterinarian
