Pagoda Tree - Feed Ingredient

The pagoda tree, scientifically known as Styphnolobium japonicum (formerly Sophora japonica), is a deciduous tree native to East Asia. Extracts from its flower buds and other parts of the plant are used in traditional medicine and as botanical ingredients in dietary supplements.

In equine formulations, pagoda tree extract may be included for its content of flavonoids, particularly rutin (a glycoside of quercetin), which has antioxidant and vascular-supportive properties.

There is limited research on the use of Styphnolobium japonicum in horses, and its safety and effectiveness remain largely unverified in equine species

The following equine feeds, supplements and products contain Pagoda Tree as an ingredient.
