Pellet binder - Feed Ingredient

A pellet binder is an ingredient added to feed formulations to improve the durability, stability, and quality of pelleted feeds. It helps maintain the structural integrity of pellets during processing, handling, and storage, reducing dust and feed wastage. Common pellet binders used in equine feeds include lignosulfonates, bentonite clay, hemicellulose extracts, and molasses.

Pellet binders also contribute to feed consistency and palatability without significantly altering the nutritional composition. The choice of binder depends on processing conditions, ingredient compatibility, and the desired pellet hardness. Proper binder selection ensures that pellets remain intact while still being easy for horses to chew and digest.
