Polyethylene Glycol - Feed Ingredient
Polyethylene glycol (PEG) is a synthetic polymer composed of repeating ethylene oxide units. It is available in a range of molecular weights, with properties that vary depending on the size of the molecule. PEG is water-soluble, chemically inert, and non-toxic, which makes it suitable for various industrial, pharmaceutical, and food-related applications.
In equine feed and supplement formulations, PEG may be used as a carrier, dispersant, emulsifier, or processing aid. It can serve to enhance the solubility and uniform distribution of active ingredients, especially in liquid or paste formulations. PEG is also utilized in some cases to facilitate the delivery of poorly soluble compounds, such as certain herbal extracts or fat-soluble vitamins.
The following equine feeds, supplements and products contain Polyethylene Glycol as an ingredient.
