Potato Starch - Feed Ingredient

Potato starch is a fine, white powder extracted from the tubers of the potato plant (Solanum tuberosum). It consists almost entirely of starch, with minimal protein, fat, or fiber. The starch is obtained by crushing raw potatoes, separating the starch granules from the juice and fibers, and then drying the product.

In equine and livestock feed formulations, potato starch serves as a source of rapidly digestible carbohydrate. It is sometimes used as a binder, thickener, or carrier in pelletized feeds and supplements. Its neutral taste and fine texture make it suitable for use in various feed types.
