Propyl Gallate - Feed Ingredient

Propyl gallate is a synthetic antioxidant derived from gallic acid and propanol. It appears as a white, crystalline powder and is commonly used as a preservative in food and feed products to prevent the oxidation of fats and oils.

In equine feed and supplement formulations, propyl gallate is included to stabilize fat-containing ingredients and extend product shelf life. By inhibiting lipid peroxidation, it helps maintain the nutritional quality and palatability of feeds that contain unsaturated fats, such as vegetable oils or fat-soluble vitamins.

The following equine feeds, supplements and products contain Propyl Gallate as an ingredient.
