Radix Aucklandiae - Feed Ingredient
Radix Aucklandiae, also known as Aucklandia lappa or costus root, is the dried root of a perennial plant traditionally used in Chinese and Ayurvedic medicine. The root contains various bioactive compounds, including sesquiterpene lactones (such as costunolide and dehydrocostus lactone), resins, and essential oils.
In equine supplements, Radix Aucklandiae may be included in herbal blends aimed at supporting gastrointestinal function. It has been traditionally used for its aromatic, bitter properties and is thought to promote digestion and alleviate abdominal discomfort.
