Sodium Phosphate - Feed Ingredient
Sodium phosphate is an inorganic compound derived from phosphoric acid in which one, two, or three of the acidic hydrogens are replaced by sodium ions. It exists in several forms, including Monosodium Phosphate (also known as sodium dihydrogen phosphate), Disodium Phosphate (also referred to as sodium hydrogen phosphate), and Trisodium Phosphate (also called sodium phosphate tribasic).
In feed or supplement formulations for equine nutrition, sodium phosphate is not commonly used as a standalone ingredient. Instead, it is typically incorporated into specialized mineral blends to contribute bioavailable phosphorus and assist in maintaining electrolyte balance and buffering pH levels. This is particularly important in performance and recovery feeds, where balanced phosphorus levels support energy metabolism, skeletal health, and overall metabolic function in horses.
The following equine feeds, supplements and products contain Sodium Phosphate as an ingredient.
