Sodium salts of fatty acids, also known as soap salts, are compounds formed by the reaction of fatty acids with sodium hydroxide. These salts are typically derived from animal fats or vegetable oils and consist of various chain-length saturated or unsaturated fatty acids.
In equine feed and supplement formulations, sodium salts of fatty acids may be used as emulsifiers, surfactants, or processing aids.
