Sorbitan Monostearate - Feed Ingredient

Sorbitan monostearate is a non-ionic surfactant and emulsifier derived from the reaction of sorbitol (a sugar alcohol) and stearic acid (a saturated fatty acid). It appears as a waxy, yellowish solid and is commonly used in food, pharmaceutical, and feed applications.

In equine feed formulations, sorbitan monostearate serves a functional role as an emulsifier or stabilizer. It helps blend ingredients that do not naturally mix well—such as fats and water-soluble components—thereby improving the texture, consistency, and processing characteristics of feeds and supplements.

The following equine feeds, supplements and products contain Sorbitan Monostearate as an ingredient.
