Whey Protein Concentrate - Feed Ingredient
Whey protein concentrate (WPC) is a high-protein dairy byproduct derived from the liquid portion of milk that remains after cheese production. This liquid whey is filtered and concentrated to remove most of the lactose, fat, and water, resulting in a protein-rich powder typically containing 30–80% protein, depending on the degree of processing.
In equine nutrition, whey protein concentrate is used in specialty supplements or feeds to provide a highly digestible and biologically valuable source of protein. It contains all essential amino acids and is particularly rich in branched-chain amino acids (BCAAs), such as leucine, isoleucine, and valine.
The following equine feeds, supplements and products contain Whey Protein Concentrate as an ingredient.
