Zeolite - Feed Ingredient

Zeolite refers to a group of naturally occurring or synthetically produced aluminosilicate minerals characterized by their porous, crystalline structure. Clinoptilolite is the most commonly used form in animal nutrition. Zeolites function as molecular sieves, allowing them to bind and exchange cations such as ammonium, calcium, and heavy metals.

In equine feed and supplement formulations, zeolite is used as a non-nutritive additive. Its primary applications include binding toxins, reducing ammonia in the gut, and supporting overall digestive function. Zeolites may also be used as flow agents or carriers in mineral premixes.
