Alpha Galactosidase - Feed Ingredient

Alpha-galactosidase is an enzyme that catalyzes the hydrolysis of alpha-galactosidic linkages in complex carbohydrates, particularly oligosaccharides such as raffinose, stachyose, and verbascose found in legumes and some grains. It breaks these sugars down into simpler, more digestible forms.

In animal nutrition, including equine feed, alpha-galactosidase may be added as a feed enzyme to improve the digestibility of high-legume or high-fiber diets. By breaking down fermentable oligosaccharides that are otherwise poorly digested in the small intestine, it may help reduce gas production and support nutrient absorption.

The following equine feeds, supplements and products contain Alpha Galactosidase as an ingredient.
