Hydrolyzed Yeast - Feed Ingredient
Hydrolyzed yeast is a processed yeast product derived from Saccharomyces cerevisiae or other yeast species. It is produced through enzymatic or acid hydrolysis, breaking down yeast cell walls and releasing intracellular nutrients such as peptides, amino acids, nucleotides, and beta-glucans. These compounds have many beneficial effects on gut health immunity.
In equine nutrition, hydrolyzed yeast is included in feed formulations as a source of functional nutrients that may support gut health and feed efficiency. It provides readily available proteins and prebiotic compounds that can help maintain a balanced microbial population in the hindgut.
