Postbiotics - Feed Ingredient

Postbiotics are the bioactive compounds produced during the fermentation of dietary substrates by the probiotics themselves. Unlike probiotics, which are live organisms, postbiotics are non-living microbial metabolites, including short-chain fatty acids (e.g., butyrate), enzymes, peptides, cell wall fragments, and other microbial byproducts.

In animal nutrition, including equine applications, postbiotics are used to support gut health, immune function, and microbial balance without the stability challenges associated with live probiotics.
