Use of magnetic resonance imaging identify suspensory desmitis and adhesions between exostoses of the second metacarpal bone and the suspensory ligament in four horses. Four horses were examined because of chronic forelimb lameness. In all horses, the cause of the lameness was localized to the metacarpus by means of physical examination and diagnostic anesthesia, and radiography of the affected limb revealed a small exostosis of the second metacarpal bone. Gracilis muscle injury as a cause of lameness in two horses. Injury to the gracilis muscle can cause acute, severe lameness in horses. Pediatric farm-related injuries: a series of 96 hospitalized patients. Ninety-six children were admitted during a 9-year period to a pediatric level 1 trauma center for treatment of farm-related injuries. The age range was from 6 weeks to 17 years (median, 7.5 years; mean, 7.6 years; standard deviation, 4.4). Conservative management of minimally displaced radial fractures in three horses. Minimally displaced, spiral, radial fractures were diagnosed in three adult horses. Fourier analysis of trunk displacements: a method to identify the lame limb in trotting horses. The aim of this paper is to present a method allowing the identification of the lame limb in trotting horses.
