Oat Hay - Feed Ingredient
Oat hay is a forage made from the entire oat plant, harvested before the grain fully matures, providing a moderate-protein, high-fiber roughage option for horses.
While it provides more energy than some grass hays, it has lower protein levels than legume hays like alfalfa. It should be harvested at the right maturity stage to avoid excessive coarseness and reduced digestibility.
The following equine feeds, supplements and products contain Oat Hay as an ingredient.
