Prebiotics - Feed Ingredient

Prebiotics are non-digestible dietary compounds that selectively stimulate the growth and activity of beneficial microorganisms in the gut, particularly bacteria such as Lactobacillus and Bifidobacterium. Common prebiotic substances include fructooligosaccharides (FOS), mannan-oligosaccharides (MOS), inulin, and certain types of soluble fiber. Unlike probiotics, which are live microorganisms, prebiotics serve as a food source for the existing beneficial microbes in the digestive tract.

In equine nutrition, prebiotics are used to support gut health, enhance nutrient absorption, and promote a balanced microbiome.
