Fermentation Extract - Feed Ingredient

Fermentation extract refers to the dried or concentrated byproduct derived from the controlled microbial fermentation of a specific organism—typically bacteria, yeast, or fungi. Unlike direct-fed microbials that contain live organisms, fermentation extracts consist of inactivated microbial cells and the bioactive compounds they produced during fermentation, such as enzymes, organic acids, peptides, and other metabolites.
